The Scholarship of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung offer financial grants to highly-qualified undergraduate and doctoral students from Germany and overseas who proof significant levels of social and political engagement. In granting scholarships, Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung seeks to counteract the social, political, and gender discrimination prevalent in our society. It also offers preference to applications from women, students of non-academic, the socially needy, and students with migrant backgrounds and people with disabilities who show comparable achievements and commitment.
Level of Studies:
Applications from graduates of technical colleges and undergraduate and doctoral students from scientific and technical disciplines are actively encouraged.
Successful candidates will obtain the following benefits:
- The monthly fundamental Scholarship consists of 850€ along with a lump sum of 20€
- Are additionally available additional subsidies for health & nursing insurance of no more than 86€.
A double scholarship with different public funds is not allowed. In the case of multiple scholarships, whole funds will be calculated together.
The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung’s Scholarship Department helps scholarship holders. It gives them a vast range of support, consisting of political education events and summer schools and workshops performed domestically and abroad, symposia, and academic trips.
It also organizes practical training in rhetoric, conflict handling, different key skills, time management, self-management, bolstering academic qualifications, textual content and writing workshops, and specific research seminars. Particular attention is given to scholarship holders’ self-organization and their working groups. The work of the Scholarship Department is assisted by roughly a hundred thirty academic liaisons collectively with the staff and networks of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung.
Both German and overseas students from all disciplines are eligible to apply for Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Scholarships. Candidate needs to be enrolled at a German institution of high study.
German residents enrolled in any other EU country or Switzerland is additionally eligible to apply. The institution can be either a university or college, and have to be either public or publicly accredited.
Scholarships for international students:
The scholarships are for the non-German citizens coming to the country to study with means provided by the Federal Foreign Office (AA).
Eligibility requirements for international students (all requirements have to be met):
- Enrolment or Acceptance at an accredited university or public one in Germany
- Proof of an accomplished Bachelor’s degree or completed basic study (Diplom, Magister, state examination)
- A very good academic performance
- Social engagement in the spirit of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung
- Proficiency in the German language (at least B2 level) – German language courses are not funded!
